Bad Homburg

Bad Homburg has been twinned with Exeter since 1965.

Bad Homburg is a very attractive spa town a short distance north-west of Frankfurt. The town lies in the foothills of the Taunus mountains and its white-towered castle was the summer residence of the last German Kaiser. In the centre of town is a large central park, the Kurpark, which contains the Kaiser-Wilhelms-Bad, a Russian church, a Siamese temple, a Casino and various sporting and leisure facilities. Bad Homburg has strong links with the Victorian and Edwardian English monarchy and it is here that the famous Homburg hat was created.
