Twenty-five students and three teachers from College Le Landry in Rennes visited Exeter and South Devon 4 - 7 February. The Twinning Circle arranged for the party to visit St Luke's Science and Sports College on Wednesday 6th. The visitors took part in sporting activities and spent time with some St Luke's students who are studying French. They also enjoyed lunch at the school. Later in the afternoon they paid a visit to the nearby Sainsbury's and enjoyed hot cross buns in the cafeteria.

The Rotary Club of Exeter had its annual exchange with Rennes from 11th - 14th September. Eleven members in all made the trip. They have been exchanging with the Rotary Club of Rennes for over forty years on a regular basis.
The 50th anniversary of Exeter - Rennes twinning has been commemorated with a DVD of photos (with musical accompaniment) taken during the reciprocal visits that took place in 2006. The DVD is available for £3.00 only and can be ordered by email from the Newsletter Editor at:

Exeter Twinning Circle has presented pictures of Bad Homburg and Terracina to Exeter City Council for display in the Civic Centre.
The biggest twinning event of the year has been the Exeter Festival Chorus concert in the Cathedral on the 28th June for the 2008 Exeter Summer Festival. Accompanied by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and joined by their twinned choirs from Bad Homburg, Hanau and Rennes, they performed Verdi's Requiem.

Exeter Children's Orchestra hosted the Orchestre des Jeunes de Haute-Bretagne from Rennes, 16 - 20 April. Concerts took place on the 18th at The Corn Exchange and on the 20th on the Quay. For more details about Exeter Children's Orchestra visit their website:
