Exchanges
We attempt to help organisations make contact with their counterparts in our twinned cities and we can help to fund the entertaining of groups visiting Exeter. Hospitality is normally provided by the receiving organisation, but travel costs must be met by the exchanging groups.
Many successful exchanges have taken place involving such organisations as Exeter Flying Club, Exeter Camera Club, Exeter Rowing Club, Southernhay United Reformed Church, EXCEL Ladies, Exeter Festival Chorus, Alphington Combined School and Exeter Rotary Club.

Official Exchange Visits
We are responsible for organising a regular programme of official twinning exchanges with Rennes, Bad Homburg and Terracina. These take the form of group visits lasting about a week and are open to all members, who we hope are able to reciprocate with hospitality for in-coming visitors. Payment for hosting is not given. Participants pay their own travel costs, but the Twinning Circle does its best to take advantage of group travel discounts and to arrange the cheapest method of travel for the group. Visit programmes include a mixture of formal and informal events providing a more intimate insight into the life and culture of our twinned towns than you can normally get from the usual tourist trip.
Inward Visits 2012
There will be two inward visits this year to Exeter. Our friends from Rennes will be coming over from Friday the 11th May 2012 to Tuesday 15th May 2012. Currently there are 29 definite and 2 possible visitors. If you can host some of our visitors please let John Whitton know by returning the Rennes Hosting Request enclosed with the January Newsletter by the 1st March 2012 at the latest.
Bad Homburg twinners will also be visiting us this year during the autumn. Final dates have yet to be agreed but the preferred dates for the inward visit are the weeks commencing 3rd or 10th September 2012. We’ll let you know as soon as we have definite dates.
The last visit to Exeter from Rennes took place from Thursday 21 to Monday 25 May 2009.
